Rainbow Rodeo – A LGBTQIA Pride Album

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with a mostly country music album with two bonus songs. The goal with this album was just to spread a little pride through the LGBTQIA community to our best ability. Personally I had a blast making the majority of it, and Kresh came in strong with the final two songs. I hope you like it.

Song 1: Rainbow Rodeo – This is just a fun song over all, and is meant to capture the spirit of the album. It’s a lot of glitter, glam, and honky-tonk country music. Rainbow Rodeo is just a celebration of the LGBTQIA life, and all that it can be. Own your truth, and have a good time with one.

Song 2: We Belong to the Open Road – This one is a little gritty, a lot of fun, I wanted this song to reflect that real honky-tonk grit found in country music. This is more for those who have a small community or no community at all. I wanted to reflect a unity among the community, and that can be cultivated when we go searching for it.

Song 3: Fudge, Wine, and Just a Lil’ Somethin’ – This is a gritty romance song between two women, nothing much else to say about it… lol, the story tells the story all on its own.

Song 4: Open The Door – This is a feel good “coming out” song. It’s about love, acceptance, and walking out from the shadows to air all of the things that those in the closet often don’t feel comfortable saying. This song celebrates empathy, pride, and finding the courage to finally just come out and live your truth.

Song 5: Darling – Another romance song, although this one is a little more tender. Less about partying, and finding that committed, long term relationship.

Song 6: Shine in Every Shade – A glam rock addition made by Kresh. This one is also about the coming process, and finding strength in one’s self and those around them.

Song 7: Unveiled (REMAKE) – This was a hardcore remake of our original song, using our bands TDF and FAIL. Also a duet, this song goes hard now! Enjoy this one, it’s amazing!

Stage Left, Exit Flame

Hey all, it’s Kern here! This is a song from Fallen Angels in Limelight (FAIL). For those of you who don’t know Fallen Angels in Limelight is a virtual band project created by us (namely Kresh) . Most of the songs have glam rock, synth, or metal influences. Obviously, this is an AI project that explores dramatic storytelling, emotional themes, and stylized visuals. Every track is human written. The goal isn’t to mimic reality, but to create something new, expressive, and creatively bold.

The song is about breakups and new beginnings as lesbian lovers end their relationship. One walks out, and the one left behind picks up the pieces in her life. It’s as empowering as it is a little sad. Press play and see for yourself, the worst that happens is you decide you don’t like it.

RWBY Fan Song: Silver and Ice (White Rose)

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with another RWBY fan song, this time centering around Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee, or “WhiteRose” to those who sail the ship.

This project is a combo between Kresh and I. I wrote the lyrics, and Kresh got the sound we wanted out of the AI we use. I thought it was only fitting that this project featuring the dynamic White Rose duo get star treatment from the Demented ferrets duo that work on the songs on our channel (Kresh and I). Personally, I absolutely love this pairing and while it isn’t canon yet (and probably won’t be), the subtext between these two speaks absolute volumes. When I was working on this fan song I really wanted to highlight the overall feel of these two characters, and keep the romance in this one ambiguous and playful more than anything else. I hope I managed to achieve that, but I’ll let the lyrics speak for themselves:

Hey all, it’s Kern here! If you’re not following us over on YouTube you really should. In any case, DnD fans, it’s time to unite. Kresh made a fan album, and it’s packed with banger after banger! If you’re into DnD and rock vibes, check out some of the songs.

First though, let’s talk about Thunderous Power Kicks (T.P.K)! This is a fictional band set in the world of DnD, and led by their fearless band leader and bard Myev Rockblade. She’s glam rock diva, so she loves being the centre of attention but when it comes down to it shes loyal to her band/friends. This band is part of the greater Demented Ferrets band universes, along with FAIL: Fallen Angels in Limelight for our City of Shadows universe.

The Deep Remembers Him (Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest Fan Song)

Hey all, it’s Kern here! Still Wakes the Deep is a horror game set on an oil rig. A quick review of the game can be found here. However, earlier this year a short DLC was released Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest, and in my opinion it really is a solid DLC all around.

In Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest, you play a member of a specialist dive team. The group goes to the North Sea to uncover the truth about what happened on the rig, and as you can guess you’re underwater for the majority of the game. I don’t want to give away too much, it’s a short DLC to play through, but I do believe it’s worth the time for anyone who enjoys undersea horror with a dash of eldritch horror meets “The Thing”, which is how I describe Still Wakes the Deep to anyone who wants to play it without spoilers.

Kresh and I thoroughly enjoyed the DLC to the point we made a fan song about it. This is that song, I hope you enjoy it, and if you’re looking for a horror game to play, maybe give Still Wakes the Deep a try. Just be ready for a lot of water related havoc, and that goes double for the DLC.

Hey all! It’s Kern here to drop something super exciting. Kresh has been absolutely busting her butt on City of Shadows 2, a continuation of the first Album’s story: found here:

Anyway, needless to say we’re super excited to say this teaser song and set-up for the next part of the journey is ready for you all to hear. The album will begin to be released on YouTube later on this year. Give it a listen, and join the hype!

Fan song: Return Without a Prize (Return to Monkey Island)

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with another video game fan song. It’s made with humans written lyrics, and with Generative AI for the music and vocals. As always, Kresh worked really hard on this one to get it as perfect and relatable as it could be.

Return to Monkey Island is a very strange game, because it doesn’t really answer any of the questions that we, as fans, had been waiting for. The game and the journey itself was, in a word: wonderful. The puzzles were moderately challenge, most of them were fairly clever. In a puzzle based point-and-click adventure franchise it played beautifully. The visuals were great, and the game had some great new character additions that really fleshed out the universe in ways that really appeals to us.

However, for all of the amazing additions to this game, and the fandom even received it, there is one major problem that just smacked both Kresh and I in the face while playing.

The ending… or rather, the entire lack of it.

 I can’t even begin to name the ways in which Monkey Island as a franchise, and this particular game in general goes on completely unresolved. There are a handful of story elements that make no sense at all because they didn’t receive firm closure. We could easily look beyond that somewhat small issue, but the ending itself was so abrupt that it makes the above complaint jarring… even infuriating.

Now some may claim that the ending of this game is certainly the average Ron Gilbert that fans could come to expect, and we shouldn’t have expected proper conclusions because of this… and you know what? I’m not against that viewpoint entirely. I just wish (and Kresh does too) that we had a much more conclusive and satisfying ending than the one we received.

This fan song was a long time coming, lyrics are in the video… hopefully, if you’re like us, it brings you some level of catharsis… lol.

RWBY Fan Song: Ride With Me

Hey All, it’s Kern here with another fan song for the RWBY fandom. This one is a Blake and Yang shipping story, with very little that’s focused on canon. Honestly, this song is just about a date-night between Blake and Yang. It really isn’t anything special.

Truthfully, this song is basically on a line-up of details I wish would have happened in the official show. We really needed opportunities for Yang and Blake to spend more time together, namely date nights and proper “partner unity” moments. (Side note: Rest in peace in your watery grave Bumblebee, you glorious motorcycle. You served your master well).

Seriously though, Yang and Blake never did get a proper date night (as of V9), and you can’t really count the Beacon dance, so it is just a little agitating the way these two currently stand romantically in the series. This is just my attempt to fill the fandom void… in any case, this really is more “fan fiction” than anything else, but I’m more than fine with that. Hope you enjoy it!
