RWBY Fan Song: Silver and Ice (White Rose)

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with another RWBY fan song, this time centering around Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee, or “WhiteRose” to those who sail the ship.

This project is a combo between Kresh and I. I wrote the lyrics, and Kresh got the sound we wanted out of the AI we use. I thought it was only fitting that this project featuring the dynamic White Rose duo get star treatment from the Demented ferrets duo that work on the songs on our channel (Kresh and I). If you like her sound, check out her music here too… seriously, if you like this, I’m sure there are others that you’ll just love.

Personally, I absolutely love this pairing and while it isn’t canon yet (and probably won’t be), the subtext between these two speaks absolute volumes. When I was working on this fan song I really wanted to highlight the overall feel of these two characters, and keep the romance in this one ambiguous and playful more than anything else. I hope I managed to achieve that, but I’ll let the lyrics speak for themselves:

Hey all, it’s Kern here! If you’re not following us over on YouTube you really should. In any case, DnD fans, it’s time to unite. Kresh made a fan album, and it’s packed with banger after banger! If you’re into DnD and rock vibes, check out some of the songs.

First though, let’s talk about Thunderous Power Kicks (T.P.K)! This is a fictional band set in the world of DnD, and led by their fearless band leader and bard Myev Rockblade. She’s glam rock diva, so she loves being the centre of attention but when it comes down to it shes loyal to her band/friends. This band is part of the greater Demented Ferrets band universes, along with FAIL: Fallen Angels in Limelight for our City of Shadows universe.

The Deep Remembers Him (Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest Fan Song)

Hey all, it’s Kern here! Still Wakes the Deep is a horror game set on an oil rig. A quick review of the game can be found here. However, earlier this year a short DLC was released Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest, and in my opinion it really is a solid DLC all around.

In Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest, you play a member of a specialist dive team. The group goes to the North Sea to uncover the truth about what happened on the rig, and as you can guess you’re underwater for the majority of the game. I don’t want to give away too much, it’s a short DLC to play through, but I do believe it’s worth the time for anyone who enjoys undersea horror with a dash of eldritch horror meets “The Thing”, which is how I describe Still Wakes the Deep to anyone who wants to play it without spoilers.

Kresh and I thoroughly enjoyed the DLC to the point we made a fan song about it. This is that song, I hope you enjoy it, and if you’re looking for a horror game to play, maybe give Still Wakes the Deep a try. Just be ready for a lot of water related havoc, and that goes double for the DLC.

Hey all! It’s Kern here to drop something super exciting. Kresh has been absolutely busting her butt on City of Shadows 2, a continuation of the first Album’s story: found here:

Anyway, needless to say we’re super excited to say this teaser song and set-up for the next part of the journey is ready for you all to hear. The album will begin to be released on YouTube later on this year. Give it a listen, and join the hype!

RWBY Fan Song: Battle at the Bar

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with another RWBY fan song, this time about the RWBY Yellow Trailer. This fan song was inspired by Yang’s combat style, character motivations, and what little we knew of the events at the time…. a little retrospection, a whole lot of badassery, and here we have it: Battle at the Bar. As always, these lyrics are human written, but AI was used to compose the song.

RWBY Fan Song: Jinn’s Observations (Remnants of Light)

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with another RWBY Fan song…

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but as I continue to work on the RWBY fan song playlist, I’ve also begun (kind of) laying them out in what would logically be a chronological timeline order on the YouTube playlist. However, I really, really REAAAALLLLYYY (you see how bad I wanted this?) wanted to have some kind of way to tie these fan songs together into a way that highlights the much wider narrative and universe… and then, it came to me.

We’ve got that in Jinn, (who we now did the explanation in Volume 1, Chapter 1). So, this fan song is all about world building. I wanted to focus not on a set of characters, but rather, the world of Remnant at large. I really hope you enjoy it… and as always, don’t forget to follow us on YouTube and Twitch for fun content.

RWBY Fan Song: Night on the Train

Hey all, it’s Kern here! This is another fan song that we’ve had up on our YouTube for a while, but it occurred to me that people who hang around only on the blog would never see it. Well, here it is!

Night on the Train is perhaps my favorite of the four RWBY trailer inspired songs. It’s softer, more reflective and introspective than the other three pieces by a mile. Having toyed around with the narrative of the other RWBY trailers that came before Volume 1, surely I had to play around with Blake’s core themes and emotional struggles too… however, Blake’s trailer lends itself to a much more emotional set of circumstances, and world building gets a chance to really flourish.

For this song, I really wanted to highlight Blake’s understanding that running away from Adam and the White Fang was always going to be a double edged sword. That ambition alone was never going to be enough, and that following a person like Adam really begs a few questions about what the White Fang really stands for, and what Blake herself stands for as a person.

So, this is a fan song about Blake Belladonna from the RWBY series. Overall, this song encapsulates themes from the RWBY Black Trailer, and glosses upon Blake’s volume 1-3 plot line, with references to later volumes. This song isn’t meant so much to be in the moments of the train events themselves, but rather the aftermath of it all and Blake’s reflections on the topic.

As always, human written lyrics (by me) and generative AI used to make the song and vocals.
