Hey all coming at you with another song from the mastermind of Kresh. Using our FAIL band, she made this song for me during a very dark time in my life. For those of you who read the blog post of how my mother passed away, you’ll know how difficult that was for me.
Hold onto the Flame was one of the songs Kresh made to comfort me at the time and now I share it here with all of you. Due to the nature of this song, I’m just going to drop it here, and leave it at that.
FAIL: Fallen Angels in Limelight – rock, glam rock, hard rock. City of Shadows Album 1 – A musical story about two cities joining together as one deep in the desert. A literal tyrant has come to lay claim to the city, and an uprising occurs. City of Shadows Album 2 – The exciting continuation of City of Shadows. Time to set out and travel the world! This story is ongoing, with song releases every Wednesday and Friday. Roll for Glory Album – An album dedicated to the wonderful world of DnD, and the fictional band in “Thunderous Power Kicks” (T.P.K) led by their fearless leader and Bard. RWBY Fan Songs – Fan made songs for the RWBY series encompassing several musical styles. (Kern’s on going project). Video Game Fan Songs – Fan made songs about video games spanning a wide variety of gaming genres and song styles (Kresh and Kern’s ongoing project). Ferret’s Synthwave – Songs with a Synthwave vibe.
Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with another RWBY related fan song. This one is called Autograph, and the reason I made it was because I was inspired by Volume 1 of the series where Ruby comes into contact with Glynda for the first time.
Ruby was mildly in awe that a huntress was beside her, up to and including asking for Glynda’s autograph. You would think a girl raised by huntsmen in her own right wouldn’t be so starry-eyed over just seeing a huntress fighting beside her, but Ruby was. I mean, Qrow’s no slouch, and though we don’t know much about Tai, we do know he at least graduated Beacon Academy and teaches at Signal.
I then concluded that one of the reasons Ruby is actually in awe isn’t because Glynda is a huntress, but rather because Glynda represents the “huntress ideal” insofar as Ruby’s seeing her actions at the time.
The moment of fighting together besides Glynda I think reflects a long-held if not impossible desire, as Summer Rose was also a huntress too. Her mother died when Ruby was too young to be doing any kind of real combat. Due to that, and her claims about how bad of a student she used to be until Qrow began personally training her bespeaks a certain lack of validation from the kind of hunters she’s inspired to be… and I’m not saying Ruby doesn’t adore her uncle, she most certainly does. Yet, there is that fact alone, he is her uncle. He’s not just a random professional in the trade acknowledging her.
Glynda is a professional though, and though she covers Ruby a fair bit in the battle, she doesn’t outright stop Ruby from adding bullets into the mix. It feels like Ruby experienced real combat without being by the side of a relative, teacher, or classmate. It probably is simply because it was a huntress that chose to offer that very basic level of acknowledgement that Ruby is overjoyed by the experience.
Perhaps in a way, purely because Glynda is a woman to begin with, there’s a higher bar there. She better reflects the sort of hunter Ruby aspires to be. She doesn’t fawn over Ozpin in quite the same way she fawns over Glynda, and I believe that’s partially because Ruby can look at Glynda and see her own “dreamlike” future in a small way.
Female, skirt wearing, unafraid to get into a fight. It was a villain Ruby was after, and Glynda’s aid in the matter reflects the sort of ethos Ruby has in the start of the series. She wanted to be a huntress to “help people”, and here Glynda is, doing that.
Anyway, in that scene after the airship escapes the scene, Ruby asks for Glynda’s autograph. This song is about the themes above and Ruby’s personal ambitions at the time. I truly hope you enjoy it because a lot of thought went into this song and it’s over all themes.
Lyrics: [Verse 1] I chased ’em up high, through the smoke and the rain, Boots on the rooftops, heart off the chain. Then I saw her standin’, crop crackin’ loud, She whipped up a storm and she owned that cloud! [Pre-Chorus] My cloak was flappin’, my hands were shakin’, I couldn’t believe the scene I was takin’… [Chorus] Can I get your autograph? Right here on my hood, on my dreams, on my map! You’re the storm I wanna ride, you’re the fire in my spark, You’re the hero I’ve chased in my heart! So before you fly off, before you fade so fast — Please, oh please… can I get your autograph? [Verse 2] Sirens below and the clouds up high, You cracked that crop and lit up the sky. Blond hair flying, green eyes like a flame, I swear in that moment, I knew your name! [Pre-Chorus] My scythe felt heavy, but my soul felt light, Standin’ there dreamin’ in the neon night… [Chorus] Can I get your autograph? On my dreams, on my sleeve, on my dusty old map! You’re the thunder I heard when I dared to believe, You’re the magic I wear on my sleeve! So before you ride off, before you vanish fast — Please, oh please… can I get your autograph? [Bridge] One day, I’ll stand tall, wear that badge too, But right now, all I wanna do… Is hold this moment in my hand, A scythe, a dream, and a brand-new plan… [Final Chorus] Can I get your autograph? On my hopes, on my heart, on this crazy path! You’re the reason I’m reaching, you’re the reason I fight, You’re the reason I’m chasing the light! So before you ride off, before you blaze past — Please, oh please… can I get your autograph? Yeah, please, oh please… just one little autograph!

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with a fan song for Assassination Classroom. The anime is an older one at this point. It came out back in 2015, so it’s been a bit of time. That being said, it’s one of the anime I still really like a lot and I wanted to do a fan song for it.
Ever felt like the world wrote you off before you even had a chance to speak? “Mach 20 Misfits” is our alt-rock love letter to the underdogs; the students of Class 3-E from Assassination Classroom, who were thrown away by the system, only to rise stronger under the unlikeliest of teachers.
This track brings together gritty guitar riffs, raw vocals, and a cinematic choir that captures the spirit of rebellion, transformation, and heart. Inspired by the emotional depth and chaotic brilliance of anime like Assassination Classroom, this rock anthem channels that inner fight and the push against failure, the pain of growth, and the bond between outcasts who finally find their spark.
If you’re into high impact, anime-inspired alt rock with epic builds and a choir that punches through the noise, this one’s for you. We wanted this song to feel like what it means to stand on the edge of everything, knife in hand, heart wide open, and still choose to become something more. Turn it up loud. Scream it out. This is rebellion.
Until next time everyone, this has been Kern of The Demented Ferrets, where stupidity is at its finest and level grinds are par for the course.

Hey all, it’s Kern here… I should have gotten around to this sooner, but I’m back to writing reviews again, the likes of which will start being posted sometime next month. Until then, I wanted to let you know about one of our ongoing projects.
Aside from fan songs and theCity of Shadows universe, Kresh and I have other projects going on all the time…. when it comes to FAIL, this is a project Kresh has been heavily steeped in.
I wanted to do a proper post introducing you all to Fallen Angels in Limelight (FAIL). This is a virtual band project created by The Demented Ferrets. Blending a mix of gothic aesthetics with glam rock, synth, and metal influences. This is AI powered music, with humans written lyrics. The project explores dramatic storytelling, emotional themes, and stylized visuals. Every track is written, arranged, and produced using a mix of AI tools and human direction. The goal isn’t to mimic reality, but rather, to create something new, expressive, and creatively bold.
With the launch of the new FAIL channel a few weeks back we also posted up a new single for it. So without further delay, I introduce you to FAIL!
Make sure to follow us over on the channel to hear music right as it’s released. I’ll post it here as well, but at a much slower rate so it really is imperative to follow the channel.
Fallen Angels in Limelight began on our The Demented Ferrets channel as just a side project that Kresh was tinkering with. As it grew and began to take shape in her mind we felt it best to branch it off into its own channel. City of Shadows 2 is being released over on FAIL, so if you like the plot of City of Shadows, be sure to check it out over there, thanks!
That’s all for now, I hope you enjoyed the song.

This is the latest project from Kresh known as City of Shadows. This 19 song story will slowly unfold over time, and if you want to follow it more closely you should…
Hey all, it’s Kern here! This is a song from Fallen Angels in Limelight (FAIL). For those of you who don’t know Fallen Angels in Limelight is a virtual band project created by us (namely Kresh) . Most of the songs have glam rock, synth, or metal influences. Obviously, this is an AI project that explores dramatic storytelling, emotional themes, and stylized visuals. Every track is human written. The goal isn’t to mimic reality, but to create something new, expressive, and creatively bold.
The song is about breakups and new beginnings as lesbian lovers end their relationship. One walks out, and the one left behind picks up the pieces in her life. It’s as empowering as it is a little sad. Press play and see for yourself, the worst that happens is you decide you don’t like it.
I put the lyrics below too!
Lyrics: [Verse 1] I stood in the silence, the crowd on their feet, Still holding my line, but she skipped the beat. A kiss backstage, a promise in smoke— But now her note’s the one that broke.
[Pre-Chorus] She left behind her perfume and pride, A shattered mirror in the green room light. No warning, no bow—just the cold of the floor, And the echo of heels as she slipped through the door.
[Chorus] Stage left—exit flame! She walked out and torched my name. No encore, no refrain— Just ashes in the fame. Stage left—exit flame! I played on while the curtains came. But hearts don’t break the same… When the fire’s part of the game.
[Verse 2] Spotlight flickers where her shadow stood, The queen of velvet, misunderstood. She left me the crowd, but stole the spark— And I’m still singing in the dark.
[Pre-Chorus 2] So pour the glitter, light the fuse, This heartbreak’s got some leather shoes. You burned me down in style and grace, But I’ll rise dressed to replace.
[Chorus] Stage left—exit flame! She walked out and torched my name. No encore, no refrain— Just ashes in the fame. Stage left—exit flame! You kissed me with a match and shame. Now every night’s the same— I burn through every frame.
[Bridge] (She said she’d stay…) (She lied in lace…) (She danced away…) (And left this place.)
[Breakdown] She was thunder in stiletto heels… But now she’s just a ghost behind the reels. I’ll keep playing through the pain— The limelight loves a soul in chains.
[Final Chorus] Stage left—exit flame! But the spotlight knows my name. Your silence fed my fame— Now I set fire to the blame. Stage left—exit flame! I burned the script, I own the stage— And from these ashes… I became.
Well, that’s about it for now, I’d say. Hopefully you liked the song and I’ll catch you all next time. This has been Kern of the Demented Ferrets. Where stupidity is at it’s finest, and level grinds are par for the course.

This is a fan song about Winter Schnee, of the RWBY series. As always, Kern had a lot of fun writing out the lyrics and getting the AI to cooperate to make this fan song. It’s a little more full of angst than you might expect out of a character like Winter, but that was half the fun.
