RWBY Fan Song: Pieces Won’t Fit

Since Kresh and I just got out of the Emerald Forest plot line in “Subjecting Kresh to RWBY”, I really wanted to do a tribute to their earliest most chaotic days when they do nothing but argue and fail to have that team synergy we all know and love. The song is from Glynda’s perspective. I hope you like this one!

The lyrics are in the video for this one, so I’m not going to type them all out here. The song is also on Patreon for those who help support our content! There is a lot moreover there to check out too, if you want to! The same goes with our Youtube.

RWBY Fan Song: What I’m Sorry For

This is a Raven fan song, obviously and it’s about Yang. It’s been posted for a while now over on YouTube, but I only just got around to posting it here as well.

RWBY Fan Song: Loneliness Like Mine

Hey everyone, it’s Kern here! I’m coming at you with a RWBY fan song for the Freezer burn pair (Weiss and Yang). These two are amazing, even if they aren’t a canon ship. I hope you…

RWBY Fan Song: Autograph

Hey all, it’s Kern here, coming at you with another RWBY related fan song. This one is called Autograph, and the reason I made it was because I was inspired by Volume 1 of the series where Ruby comes into contact with Glynda for the first time.

Ruby was mildly in awe that a huntress was beside her, up to and including asking for Glynda’s autograph. You would think a girl raised by huntsmen in her own right wouldn’t be so starry-eyed over just seeing a huntress fighting beside her, but Ruby was. I mean, Qrow’s no slouch, and though we don’t know much about Tai, we do know he at least graduated Beacon Academy and teaches at Signal.

I then concluded that one of the reasons Ruby is actually in awe isn’t because Glynda is a huntress, but rather because Glynda represents the “huntress ideal” insofar as Ruby’s seeing her actions at the time.

The moment of fighting together besides Glynda I think reflects a long-held if not impossible desire, as Summer Rose was also a huntress too. Her mother died when Ruby was too young to be doing any kind of real combat. Due to that, and her claims about how bad of a student she used to be until Qrow began personally training her bespeaks a certain lack of validation from the kind of hunters she’s inspired to be… and I’m not saying Ruby doesn’t adore her uncle, she most certainly does. Yet, there is that fact alone, he is her uncle. He’s not just a random professional in the trade acknowledging her.

Glynda is a professional though, and though she covers Ruby a fair bit in the battle, she doesn’t outright stop Ruby from adding bullets into the mix. It feels like Ruby experienced real combat without being by the side of a relative, teacher, or classmate. It probably is simply because it was a huntress that chose to offer that very basic level of acknowledgement that Ruby is overjoyed by the experience.

Perhaps in a way, purely because Glynda is a woman to begin with, there’s a higher bar there. She better reflects the sort of hunter Ruby aspires to be. She doesn’t fawn over Ozpin in quite the same way she fawns over Glynda, and I believe that’s partially because Ruby can look at Glynda and see her own “dreamlike” future in a small way.

Female, skirt wearing, unafraid to get into a fight. It was a villain Ruby was after, and Glynda’s aid in the matter reflects the sort of ethos Ruby has in the start of the series. She wanted to be a huntress to “help people”, and here Glynda is, doing that.

Anyway, in that scene after the airship escapes the scene, Ruby asks for Glynda’s autograph. This song is about the themes above and Ruby’s personal ambitions at the time. I truly hope you enjoy it because a lot of thought went into this song and it’s over all themes.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1] I chased ’em up high, through the smoke and the rain, Boots on the rooftops, heart off the chain. Then I saw her standin’, crop crackin’ loud, She whipped up a storm and she owned that cloud!
[Pre-Chorus] My cloak was flappin’, my hands were shakin’, I couldn’t believe the scene I was takin’…
[Chorus] Can I get your autograph? Right here on my hood, on my dreams, on my map! You’re the storm I wanna ride, you’re the fire in my spark, You’re the hero I’ve chased in my heart! So before you fly off, before you fade so fast — Please, oh please… can I get your autograph? [Verse 2] Sirens below and the clouds up high, You cracked that crop and lit up the sky. Blond hair flying, green eyes like a flame, I swear in that moment, I knew your name! [Pre-Chorus] My scythe felt heavy, but my soul felt light, Standin’ there dreamin’ in the neon night…
[Chorus] Can I get your autograph? On my dreams, on my sleeve, on my dusty old map! You’re the thunder I heard when I dared to believe, You’re the magic I wear on my sleeve! So before you ride off, before you vanish fast — Please, oh please… can I get your autograph?
[Bridge] One day, I’ll stand tall, wear that badge too, But right now, all I wanna do… Is hold this moment in my hand, A scythe, a dream, and a brand-new plan…
[Final Chorus] Can I get your autograph? On my hopes, on my heart, on this crazy path! You’re the reason I’m reaching, you’re the reason I fight, You’re the reason I’m chasing the light! So before you ride off, before you blaze past — Please, oh please… can I get your autograph?
Yeah, please, oh please… just one little autograph!

Fan Song: Aggro to Zone (Final Fantasy XI)

Hey everyone, it’s Kern here. A little while ago we released this fan song to YouTube, and we hope you’ll enjoy it. This is a fan song about Final Fantasy XI, and a nostalgic trip through memory lane from during what FFXI players call “Aggro to zone days”, a time in FFXI history when you trailed mobs to the zone after being aggroed they didn’t despawn, they merely walked back to the spawn location.

These days, aggroing a monster to the zone in FFXI doesn’t mean the mob will walk back to the place the monster is meant to be, it will simply despawn and fade away. This ends up saving other players a lot of headaches in key zones like the dunes and crawler’s nest. All in all this song is meant to be a fun musical romp down memory lane for the people who fondly recall those days.
